OBJECTIVE
Work as Sql Porgrammer, Crystal reports, Sql Reporting Services SSRS developer, writer and designer. I want to utilize my extensive experience in Crystal Reports and SQL Reporting services – SSRS writing, developing and designing, as well as SQL Programming skills. I have worked in Insurance, Banking, Manufacturing and Health Care fields. I want to strengthen my existing skills and learn and expand my knowledge in related technologies.

WORK EXPERIENCE

GTA Based Company – Nov 2010 to Present

Working as a Consultant with GTA Based Company for Crystal Reports- Canned reports and maintenance which are being used in Security, and Risk Management related application. Main focus in this project is to modify canned reports into Clean, professional look and feel to modern standards and consistency with
Clear delineation of Data type groups / Sections and Improved Ergonomics for at a glance understanding of the data presented. Utilization of Advance Graph and charts for at glance interpretation and comprehensive presentation of data. Created advanced statistical reports divided in different sections in a single .rpt file, these reports includes the randomly selected dates from data grids, Summary reports, Advance graphs which showed detail data by group and summary of the group, Crosstabs table included which showed the statistics of the data.

Complex reports relating to Human resources, Incident reporting and graphical presentation of these reports. Employee Performance reports such as Time Allocation and complex reporting in Multilevel Scenarios and optimal use of Subreports by leveraging the power of grouping. Created Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (Fintrac Reporting). The Fintrac report involves the main Transaction involving disbursements at next level and multiple reasons and multiple methods at another level. The reasons and methods are further associated with multiple associated entities and Individual at last level. I successfully created this report.

Prime Group is a steel rolling mills and Export Company having its offices in Dubai and Pakistan. This project was to create /upgrade database and Crystal Reports to facilitate changes in business rules and expansion in manufacturing facility.

In my first report Company’s Business rule of receiving full payments on export invoices was changed in partial payments, consequently it became critical to record the related exchange rates, commission charges and bank charges on partial payments. In coordination with management enhanced the business process. I extended SQL Server database functionality by creating additional table to store partial export receipts and related data. Developed crystal reports for higher management showing statistical analysis of payments received against each export invoice along with detail of related exchange rates statistics, the bank charges, commissions and discount and sum of net amount received and related information like average exchange rates and summary of all expenses.

Second report in this project involved the raw material optimization. Steel billet was received in different sizes and then cut into 3 or 2 lengths for further usage in rolling mill. In coordination with their engineers. I developed the report which showed sizes of lengths of billets to be cut depending on full length of the billet received. Crystal reports 2008 was used and all the data was in SQL Server 2008. Contract was successfully completed. In this project Crystal Reports 2008, SQL topics like floor function, statistical formulas, temp tables and case SQL statements were utilized.

Client had the service contracts with many companies in Windsor Ontario. The contracts charges customers based on monthly/yearly as well as per visit basis. The issue was to calculate the bonus of the employees based on hours sold and the hourly rate. Hourly rate was calculated and effected by the hours spent and the nature of contract.

If the contract was expensive and less hours spent then employees were awarded according to high hourly rate. If the contract was of less expensive and more hours spent then hourly rate dropped and consequently bonus. That project involves usage of Crystal reports 2008 and SQL Reporting services 2005, SQL Sub queries; Sub reports with passing data through variables between main and sub report and statistical formulas.

Unrix Pharmacy | NYC November 2006 – July 2008

Consultant – SQL Programmer/Crystal reports developer/SQL Reporting Services

In this contract I was assigned to develop/modify existing Crystal Reports and SQL reporting Services in MED ACT health care software for pharmacies. They were using medact software which came with canned Reports. The managment want to see more indepth analysis like showing amounts received and outstanding balance with insurance companies, Sale figures by sales agents and targets, sales by regions and data analysis. In addition to making new reports, modified existing canned reports to show additional data on the reports. Sybase Anwhere was used as backend database and Crystal report 10 was used in this software or reporting. Provided the client an economical solution, as Software manufacturer quoted very high price for any report modification or creating new reports.

In this contract I was assigned to develop several SQL Reporting Services 2005 and crystal reports XI for Executive level to operational departments. I started with Monthly billing report. The exact report specifications were given. This report showed the club members count, member billed, and member collected, ratio of billing vrs collections of the current month and a previous month to see comparison. Crunch Fitness database was consisted of about 300 tables, due to the nature of business, Country wide branches, membership and employees categories, the database structure was very complex.

My second report was employee bonus report. The issue was to track and calculate the bonus if employees made sales contracts and this contract lasted more than 60 days.

I utilized Crystal reports XI in these reports and extensively used Transact-SQL Language, Sub queries, SQL Case statements, Sub reports with variables for passing data between main and sub repor, Cross Tab Reports as well as created underlying stored procedures and views.

In this project I coordinated with Chief financial officers, Chief technology officers and project managers.

I was assigned on data scrubbing/cleansing project and worked with Director of Technology and outside project consultants. This task involved and ETL Process i.e extracting data from from Text files and then transforming and load into new System. More specifically the separation of the first and last names stored in one column into 2 separate columns named as First_name and Last_name. There were 80 thousand rows or eighty thousand customers.

I first exported data from name column to text file along with prime keys, then re-imported into access database using space delimiter which separated first name and last name into 2 columns. There were many other similar tasks of Data Scrubbing / cleansing in this contract.

I successfully accomplished all assigned tasks by using MS ACCESS, SQL Data Transformation Services and Transact SQL statements.

Database Analyst – Design March 1995 – December 2004

When I joined the company in 1995 most of the accounting data was recorded in Manual registers ledgers / spreadsheets consequently extensive time was spent on preparing reports and making timely decisions.
In 1996, I initiated utilization of MS Access and led the logical data modeling of the Altech, and gradual implementation of RDBMS format in MS Access. The data was extracted from MS Excel flat files then transformed and loaded into MS Access and modeled into RDMS format. Created tables to store Master data about all accounts including customers, suppliers, employees and entity related to Altech business. Designed tables to record financial and material transactions and coordinated with Accounts departments to create general ledger and related reports in Crystal reports 8-9.

In 2000 this data base was upgraded to SQL Server 7 utilizing MS Access as front end using Access data project. All the data entry forms and reports were upgraded accordingly. From 2000 to 2002 all the data was centralized in a SQL Server database on server. This facilitates the in-depth business analysis through Crystal reports 9-10 and fast and correct data entry using MS Access Form.
During my first job, I learned and mastered several concepts of data management such as changing dimensions, notably how to keep track of historical data. Data Modeling for highly normalized OLTP database and then denormalizing the same for OLAP and business intelligence.
