Data Statistician / Data Analyst (#130655)

As a Data Statistician, you will apply your expertise in data analysis, statistical modeling, and data mining, and you will manage technical and critical analytics solutions. Your primary responsibilities will be to help develop new and to improve existing statistical models with a focus on solutions for the sales and marketing teams, but you will also contribute to business intelligence projects in other cross-functional areas (marketing, finance, corporate strategy, product management, web analytics, economics, reporting, and research).

You should also have some expertise in predictive modeling techniques such as multivariate regression, logistic regression, decision trees, clustering and time series analysis and be ready to apply these to analyze operational, web, user behavior, and financial data.

The candidate should demonstrate a strong business sense and be familiar with and interested in the business needs and objectives of these and other core business functions.

Responsibilities:

Business Analytics & sales team:
You will be responsible for maintaining, optimizing and ultimately re-training the data mining predictive analytics solution which supports the efforts of our sales team. You will be responsible for its daily operation as well as managing and building supporting tools for the sales process. You will provide ongoing analysis to ensure the quality of the model output and make sure we continue to gain insights from the statistical models (trends, sales force efficiency, economics, etc.).

Business Analytics & Core Business Teams:
You will field data and information inquiries and analysis requests by some of the other teams we support in the organization: marketing, product management, business development, etc. and you will be involved in other Business Analytics initiatives.

Qualifications:

- 5+ years of work experience in a Statistician / Data Analyst role with a proven track record of leveraging data analysis to drive significant business impact.

- Excellent communicator and collaborator with the tech and non-tech teams alike.

- Besides getting to know the highly normalized database structure, some programming language experience is good to have.

Having super user skills on MS Excel. You should be experienced with at least one statistical analysis tools such as R, S-Plus, SAS, Stata, and/or Weka or equivalent.

Bachelor’s Degree / MS in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Operations Research or related field.
